Starred Review: "This ""virtual visit"" is from Toni Buzzeo, one of our own media specialists and award-winning children's book author. Not only do you learn about Toni's early life, her first job was in high school at the public library, and her adult library life, but you also find the path she took to become an author. My favorite part of the book is the portion that describes each of her books beginning with the story behind the story, and then goes on to give curricular connections. In typical Toni fashion the book extensions are extensive! It includes graphic organizers, bibliographies to round out a unit of study, Web sites, and student writing ideas...everything you hope for when creating an in-depth author study. She also includes a series of letters that are to be used as idea starters for student writing. At the end of the book there is a Matrix of Learning Activities by content standard/strand-truly a gift for all library media specialists. This is a great series, the next best thing to a real author coming to visit! And this book makes me want to have Toni Buzzeo for my next author visit. Highly Recommended." ~ Liz Deskins, Library Media Connections, April/May 2006 (reprinted in full with permission of the author)

“In each of these books [in The Author and YOU series], the reader is acquainted with the author in a depth hitherto unavailable to teachers and teacher-librarians. This series provides background for working with the many children who love an author's work and have so many questions . . .  Highly recommended for those interested in the individual authors.Teacher Librarian, April 2006
